Emotions are the core of human experience. The international group exhibition Real Feelings explores the rapidly changing relationship between technology and emotions. The works of the 20 artists presented in the exhibition inquire and show how technology today represents, manipulates and changes our emotions.
"What A Cutie" (2020) is a video the artist's iPhone created from a collection of photos and videos Hirsch took of her four month old daughter, Elisheva. This gesture examines technological automation in a time of public social identity. More specifically, how large media corporations such as Apple or Facebook, steal our information but soften the blow by giving us little presents like targeted ads, email word suggestions, or pre made videos we can share with friends.
FREIZONE DREISPITZ is an audio video walk with live interventions. Oscillating between reality and fiction, this play leads the audience equipped with headphones and tablet across the Dreispitz area. A listening experience that opens the eyes.
Sabine Himmelsbach, co-curator of the exhibition "Real Feelings" and director of the HeK, will give an insight into the concept and selected works of the exhibition in a tour, broadcasted via Instagram.
