The second HEK.edition will be a generative NFT by Swiss media artist Leander Herzog. Each HEK.edition is accompanied by an artist talk to provide an insightful view into the creative process, inspirations and conceptual background of a work.
The HEK presents artistic projects at the intersection of art and media. In line with this commitment, we are pleased to announce the launch of the HEK.editions - an exclusive series of NFT-editions (Non Fungible Tokens) that are both part of the HEK's program and autonomous art projects. Each edition presents independent creations by internationally renowned media artists. Each HEK.edition is accompanied by an artist talk to provide an insightful view into the creative process, inspirations and conceptual background of a work.
The second HEK.edition will be a generative NFT by Swiss media artist Leander Herzog. The NFT.edition will be accessible from 11.06.2023 via our new HEK NFT shop and on fxhash. fxhash is an open platform for creating and collecting unique generative art NFTs on the tezos blockchain. The artist talk will take place on Twitter Spaces with Leander Herzog, Paul Viktor Schmidt (fxhash) and Ugo Pecoraio (Head of Communications HEK). Herzog will give insights into his artistic practice, generative NFTs and the art history references in his work. The creative and technical possibilities that the implementation of Web3 opens up for cultural institutions and museums will also be discussed.
The HEK.editions and the HEK NFT shop are part of the transformation project «HEK Connect», funded by the cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft, which enables the HEK to position itself as an innovative cultural institution in a globally networked digital economy.
