Sukitoa o Namau is a Moroccan experimental sound artist and researcher. Her background is in contemporary dance, performing arts and visual arts. In 2012, she founded her dance company UCHRONIE and expanded her research into choreographic boundaries and the possibility of dance beyond the dancing body. In 2017 she released her debut EP Nari and was selected as a featured artist for Taqsim. This platform enables musicians and producers from the MENA region to communicate through sound, improvisation and collaboration, in collaboration with Mideast Tunes. It uses sound as a medium to deepen their reflection on boundaries through field recordings, edited sounds and electronics, and as a tool to break down the barriers between art and activism.
