The Cleaners impressively illuminates these consequences and their complexity by letting so-called "content moderators" have their say. Workers who keep the social media "clean" by filtering uploaded content that contradicts the guidelines - naked bodies, beheadings, violence. Often no distinction is made between informative, artistic or satirical and actually problematic content. But what are the consequences for the individual and the global community of this policy, which simply eliminates or excludes what "disturbs" instead of addressing the underlying problems?
