The application of digital media in society, education and culture marks our digital age. New technologies and media are also used in cultural education, but sometimes present challenges. In order to be able to take digital paths in the mediation and actively shape them, know-how, inspiration, openness and meanwhile critical scrutiny are needed.

Kulturvermittlung Schweiz and the HeK are organising a conference to exchange ideas on digital possibilities in cultural mediation and to reflect on the topic with the participants. The aim of the event is to get to know the current range of digital media in the mediation work and to get impulses for one's own mediation practice. The focus is on the productive interaction between analog and digital, and the question of the "success conditions" of digital cultural mediation.

The event is open to free and institutional cultural mediators, representatives from the strategy, communication and marketing of cultural institutions, experts from the cultural promotion sector and other interested parties.

  • Malvina Artheau (coach and independent consultant for participation and inclusion in culture and research):"What new roles does the digital open up to the mediator of today?
  • Tanja Praske (Dr. phil., art historian, cultural manager and lecturer for digital cultural mediation at the LMU Munich) "Digitale Kulturvermittlung - quo vadis? On the current state of analogue-digital accesses to culture".
  • Julia Bergmann (freelance trainer and consultant in the field of digital change in cultural and educational institutions):"The hunger for 3 places in the digital society".
  • Short presentations of cultural mediation projects with digital media from practice
  • Plenary discussion, moderation: Georges Pfründer (Head of the Chair of Cultural Mediation and Theatre Pedagogy at the Pedagogical University FHNW)

The clusters discussed in the plenary session will then be examined in depth in round tables. The thematic clusters developed at the conference serve as a basis for the conception of a relay run on the topic of "digital cultural mediation", which KVS plans for 2018. The marketplace with aperitifs offers an opportunity for discussion and networking. The presented projects can also be visited at their stands.

The conference will be held in German / French. The online registration and further information about the programe will be available on an ongoing basis. The number of participants is limited, registrations will be considered in the order of their arrival. Registrations are possible on this page. The deadline for registration is 31 October 2017. Reduced prices are for members of Verein Kulturvermittlung Schweiz and students.

The event will be broadcast live on Perisocope: During the conference you can also discuss from the outside via Twitter (#digiKVM).
